Digital signage setup doesn’t have to be complicated. With Imagine, you can create your account, connect your first screen, and start displaying content in just a few minutes, even if you’re completely new to digital signage software.

How quickly can I get started?

If your screen and player are already compatible, installing and pairing the Imagine Player can take only a few minutes. The complete setup may take longer if you still need to choose hardware, create content, arrange installation, or obtain approval from your IT team.

For a multi-site rollout, start with one representative location. A short pilot gives you the opportunity to refine the hardware, connectivity, content, and installation process before repeating it across every branch.

How do I create an Imagine account?

To begin your digital signage setup, open the Imagine Digital Signage registration page and enter the requested account information. Follow the verification instructions sent to your email address, then sign in to the dashboard.

Use an email address controlled by your organisation, and keep the primary administrator’s details up to date. Each additional user should have their own account rather than sharing one login.

How do I connect my first screen?

After you have created your Imagine account and completed the registration process, follow these steps:

  1. Download the digital signage player: Choose the Imagine Player that matches your screen or device. Imagine supports multiple digital signage platforms, including Android and LG webOS. Depending on your device, you can download the Android APK, install the Imagine Digital Signage Player from the Google Play Store, or download the appropriate LG player.
  2. Install and open the Imagine Player: Install the Imagine Player on your TV, commercial display, or media player and open the app. Once launched, the player will display a unique Screen ID and PIN. You'll use these details to securely connect the device to your Imagine Signage account.
  3. Add your screen: Log in to your Imagine dashboard and select Screens from the main menu. Click Add New Screen and follow the setup prompts. Give your screen a recognisable name, select the appropriate player or device type, and enter the Screen ID and PIN displayed by the Imagine Player.
  4. Connect your screen: Save your new screen. Once successfully connected to the internet and linked to your account, its status will display as Online in your Imagine dashboard. Your screen is now connected to the Imagine Digital Signage CMS and ready for you to add content, create playlists, schedule media, and publish content directly to your display.

How should I name my screens?

Choose names that allow someone to identify a screen without standing in front of it. A useful name normally includes the location, purpose, orientation, and, where necessary, a number, such as “Somerset West Entrance Landscape 01”.

If you are planning a larger network, agree on one naming convention before adding all your screens. Clear, consistent names make publishing, monitoring, reporting, and support much easier than generic labels such as “Screen 1”.

What should I publish first?

Begin with a short test playlist containing one image and one video created in the correct screen orientation. Publish it to a single screen, wait for the files to download, and check the result using a remote screenshot and, if possible, an on-site visual check.

Once you know the screen is connected and playing correctly, you can build the normal content loop, add widgets, and apply scheduling. Starting small makes it much easier to identify whether a problem comes from the content, player, screen, or network.

Do I need technical knowledge to use Imagine?

Not at all. Imagine is powerful without being complicated. If you can browse the internet, upload a photo, or send an email, you should feel comfortable using the platform.

The interface makes everyday tasks, such as uploading content, building playlists, scheduling campaigns, and managing screens, straightforward. If you do need help, you can speak to a real member of our support team who understands both the software and the realities of running a digital signage network.

Can I manage Imagine from a phone or tablet?

Yes, you can. Imagine’s CMS can be accessed from your phone, tablet, or computer, giving you the flexibility to upload content, update playlists, manage screens, and make changes wherever you are. The platform is fully mobile-friendly, so you can access the same features across your devices with ease.

How do I reset my password?

Select Forgot password? on the Imagine sign-in page, enter the email address linked to your account, and follow the instructions sent to your inbox. If you don't receive the email, check your spam or junk folder and confirm that you entered the correct registered address. Contact our support team if you no longer have access to that email address or the reset link doesn't work.

Can I try Imagine before paying?

Yes, you can. Our free Starter plan allows you to register and explore the platform before making a wider commitment. You can test your hardware, upload content, build playlists, and become familiar with the workflow. What should I record after installing a screen?

Keep a clear record of every installed screen. Useful details include:

  • Screen name and physical location
  • Street address and on-site contact
  • Display and player models
  • Serial number or MAC address
  • Network information
  • Screen orientation
  • Installation photographs
  • Warranty and support notes

Accurate records reduce troubleshooting time and make future replacements much easier. Imagine also allows useful site and hardware information to be stored against each screen.

What should I prepare before setting up my account?

A little preparation makes the first setup much smoother. Before creating the account, gather:

  • Billing and administrator details
  • Screen locations
  • A consistent screen-naming format
  • The names and roles of intended users
  • Hardware and network information
  • A small set of test content

It also helps to decide who may create, approve, publish, and monitor content. Doing this upfront prevents shared passwords, confusing screen names, and unclear responsibility later.

How do I choose the correct screen orientation?

Choose landscape or portrait according to the physical space and the content viewers need to see. Confirm that the display is approved for the chosen orientation, then create media at the matching aspect ratio.

Rotating a consumer television may affect ventilation, warranty, or image quality, so make sure of your hardware capabilities before getting set up.

Does IT need to approve the installation?

IT involvement may be required when the player connects to a managed company network, particularly where firewall rules, web filtering, or restricted internet access are in place.

Your IT team may need to:

  • Allow access to the Imagine dashboard URL
  • Allow your workspace domain, such as [clientname].imaginesignage.app
  • Open outbound HTTPS traffic through port 443
  • Adjust any firewall or security rules preventing the player from connecting

If connection problems continue, open the Screens page in Imagine and provide your IT team with the screen’s MAC address and IP address. These details can help them identify the device, review network activity, and apply the correct access rules.

For security reasons, the firewall should be configured to permit the required Imagine traffic rather than removed or disabled completely.

How do I confirm that setup was successful?

Once setup is complete, confirm that the player shows as online and that the correct playlist is assigned to the screen. Check that all media has downloaded and that the content appears correctly in the intended landscape or portrait orientation. You can verify playback using a remote screenshot, followed by a quick check of the physical screen. Finally, restart the player and briefly disconnect it from the internet to confirm that downloaded content continues playing offline.
